Our Road Map to Success
The World Comedy Foundation succeeds when we help communities leverage their collective creative resources, talents, ideas, and cultural assets. To these ends, we identify, cultivate, and align the potential of comedians and the comedy-adjacent to innovate, address problems, and produce artistic, social, and/or economic value for their communities.
Here's how we do that:
1. Harnessing Individual Talent
The World Comedy Foundation identifies people with unique skills, artistic abilities, or innovative ideas. We encourage collaboration and cross-disciplinary partnerships. We provide platforms and opportunities for creators to express their vision (e.g., performances, multimedia entertainment, fundraisers, skill shares, open mics, and more).
2. Building Networks and Collaboration
We establish connections between creatives, entrepreneurs, and organizations. We foster a supportive ecosystem where ideas and resources can flow freely. We create and support environments in live, live-digital, and print for brainstorming, experimenting, co-creating, and publishing.
3. Mobilizing Resources
We secure funding, tools, and spaces necessary to support creative work. We manage intellectual capital (ideas and innovations) to maximize impact. We invest in infrastructure to nurture creativity.
4. Promoting Cultural and Social Impact
We elevate underrepresented voices or marginalized perspectives in the arts. We address social challenges through creative solutions. We revitalize communities by fostering a sense of identity and belonging through cultural initiatives.
5. Monetizing Creativity
We help comedians turn creative ideas into sustainable economic ventures, such as startups, creative products, and intellectual property. We align artistic and innovative efforts with market needs, societal demands, and the necessity of local communities.
6. Advocating for Policies and Systems
We advocate for public policies that support the arts and innovation. We build frameworks that ensure fair compensation and recognition for creators. We establish institutions and governance structures to manage and grow creative assets.
7. Driving Innovation
We use creativity to push boundaries in authentic, sustainability, renewable, human-centered growth. We encourage risk-taking and experimentation to generate groundbreaking ideas. We integrate creative thinking into decision-making across all sectors.
